Cliche of being Greatest and Genius ... by Orbindu Ganga

Genius is rare because the means of becoming one have not been available.
 ~ Victor Hugo

The above quote suffices the breed of genius to be seen in sparse. The ability to think and analyse have withered. It has culminated to such an extend of treating all in equal terms. Some words have become a cliche for many to be used redundantly. The words GREATEST or GENIUS can only be attributed to those who have achieved excellence in their respective fields. I often come across of people using such words without knowing the actual essence of the words.

Percy Bysshe Shelley and Amrita Sher-Gil may not have the creations in terms of numbers but the quality of their work certainly place them among the greats. Awards and number of creations don't define a person's greatness; quality of the work does. Statisticians may rate a person in terms of numbers but art is defined by the quality of the work. Greatness can be attributed in terms quality and not numbers.

Numbers have enticed who is keener on data. Data have become a source of manipulation. They have created the mad race for many to follow. Many follow the bandwagon to be in the limelight. Admiring is harmless but if it becomes a blind source for ignoring the self, it does have a greater repercussion. To see the quality of a work or an action requires a careful absorption and adsorption.

Art of LEARNING - 1

Art of learning has never been considered seriously. Parents expect their children to study because they have never been taught the art of learning.
Teachers have never been trained on the concept of learning, listening and understanding. If they did have the subject in their learning process, the ability to transform such a concept into a realistic mode have never been implemented.
Learning is such an integral part from our childhood. But the attention given to understand and appreciate the concept has never been done. Only when the importance of such a concept is appreciated, the importance of implementation can be realistically done in the curriculum.
